Radio advertisement

Many radio stations have a large audience and will often reach the majority of the local population. Different radio stations will have their own loyal, dedicated audience. This makes it viable to attract audience in a particular socio-economic group, gender, age or ethnic groups. Radio adverts can be produced inexpensively and quickly.
There are many advantages of radio advertisement, one is for instance, you can choose the time of day and which day of when the commercial to be played on the radio. The disadvantage of radio advertisements is the lack of visual elements. If images are important to your radio commercial then the radio ad isn’t the right medium. Radio adverts can be forgotten quickly as there is lack of images. Radio ads could be suitable for cafes, restaurants or bars.

Radio advertising

Radio advertising is an effective way to attract millions or thousands of people as they reach many listeners. Another advantage of radio advertising is that it can reach people in their homes, cars, and internet and even in a public place like the doctors, cafes or restaurants. Radio advertisement is a good way to reach a broad audience in an inexpensive way. Some of the radio stations may provide free airtime which means free exposure to a wide audience. Radio advertisements are cheaper than other forms of advertisement such as TV commercials, magazine and newspaper advertisements.
Most of the radio advertising slots are 30 seconds long. It is vital to get the message across and use the time appropriately to attract the audience. There are key ingredients to a successful radio advertisement such as the right things being said at the right time, and using methods that will make the advertisement memorable among the audience’s mind. Talks will withdraw the attention of the audience and bore them too. This can be avoided using certain methods. For example, using a catchy jingle will help the audience remember the business organisation or corporation. A catchy logo should accompany a catchy jingle. For example, an appealing phrase and using humour will attract the audience’s attention. Firstly it is important to select the right radio station before launching the advertisement. For example, selecting a station with large audience or a station that shares the same focus as the business. Repeating the advertising technique several times will attract the audience’s attention. There are two types of radio: internet and satellite radio which can reach a global audience.
